ABOUT US


Bruce Bender came to Globe in 1982 and established his physical therapy business to serve the local area. His reputation as a Physical Therapist and a caregiver - with heart- is well established among both the patients he sees as well as the orthopedic surgeons who refer their patients to his clinic.  Although he offers a wide range of  physical therapy for those who have experienced either industrial or sports injuries, he is known as a very good hand therapist, having undergone special training in this area while in New York.

The Clinic is housed in one of Globe's old craftsman-style homes, and the feeling you get when you walk through the door is less clinical... and more 'home town.' it is a friendly environment - Bruce's legendary gruffness aside. And patients swear by the work they do with Bender.

   
Bender, who went to Western Maryland College after graduating in the 60's to study pre-med, dropped out in 1968 to join the Army "because he wanted to fly."  He flew "about 1000 hours" as a helicopter pilot stationed near the DMZ. Today, in the Clinic   there are many signs of Bender's military career in Viet Nam where he earned the Air Medal with V Device, "for heroism while participating in aerial flight...and the Army Commendation Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster) in 1970 for "meritorious achievement."  An article in the Copper Country News / February 13 2008 showcases his military career.


The Clinic accepts all forms of insurance except for United Healthcare, HealthNet and Access.
 In addition, Bender will work with any patient in need to make rehab affordable, so if you are in need and even if you don't have health insurance...call the Clinic.
