But for a little background on what makes Cedar Hill what it is, let me tell you how we came to own a B&B in Globe!
Cedar Hill Bed and Breakfast was the inspiration of my mother,Helen Gross who fell in love with the Globe community in 1992 when she moved there from her native soil of Kansas. She was 70 at the time, and found a welcoming home in Globe. It had the same feel as the small community in Western Kansas and she jumped into her new life with both feet! But for a little background on what makes Cedar Hill what it is, let me tell you how we came to own a B&B in Globe!
She found the biggest house on the block and after renovating the home to accommodate visitors, she began to offer up rooms and apartments for those living and working in the area. The idea of Cedar Hill Bed and Breakfast became a reality and for ten years she ran the house by herself. It was a labor of love - and it paid the bills. Her daughter, Linda, moved to Globe in 2001 to care for her and the Bed & Breakfast and with a little help and "alotta love", both continued to thrive. Helen passed away in 2008, much to the disappointment of all who had enjoyed the benefit of her wise (and witty) council. Today, the home is well established as a bed and breakfast for travelers,and a comfortable option for extended stay contractors working in the area. ***NOTE: We are currently fully booked through December. We're happy to make recommendations for other B&Bs in the area and hope to see you in January...and beyond.
(There are several contract personnel in the area who find a need to call Cedar Hill home, while they establish their own foothold in the community. Hence, our B&B is hosting some future local residents for this Fall...)
The floors in the kitchen and LR recently got a new paint job. And the side yard was re-landscaped to
accommodate our hot Arizona summers.
Our guests and travelers say about the area, it is this: "It feels like walking into my grandmothers home...warm, welcoming and ever so accepting; of kids, dogs, and late mornings! We have had some of our best conversations with you and your mother on the front porch swings. Thank you. We'll be baaaack!"
